Job scams and candidate safety

Fake job offers sometimes use the names of real companies. Here is how to check that a message really comes from Trending Jobs, and what to do if it does not.

Our candidate fee policy

Trending Jobs does not charge job seekers any fee, at any stage: registration, interviews, selection or joining. Our services are paid for by employers. If anyone asks you for money in our name, do not pay, and report it to hr@trendingjobz.in.

Warning signs of a fake job offer

  • You are asked to pay for registration, training, a uniform, a laptop, a background check or to “secure” a job.
  • You receive an offer without an interview, or after a very short chat on a messaging app.
  • The salary is far higher than normal for the role and your experience.
  • The message comes from a personal email address or an unknown phone number.
  • You are pressured to decide or pay quickly.
  • You are asked for bank passwords, OTPs, card details or UPI PINs. No genuine employer needs these.
  • The website address is slightly different from ours.

How to check an offer

  1. Compare the sender's email, phone number and website with the official details on this page.
  2. Email us at hr@trendingjobz.in with the name of the person who contacted you, the role and a screenshot of the message.
  3. Never share OTPs, passwords or UPI PINs with anyone.
  4. Read our guide: How to check whether a job offer is genuine.

If you think you have been targeted

  1. Stop contact and do not make any further payment.
  2. Email us at hr@trendingjobz.in so we can warn other candidates.
  3. If you have lost money, contact your bank immediately and report the incident at the National Cyber Crime Reporting Portal, cybercrime.gov.in, or call the cyber crime helpline 1930.
  4. Keep screenshots of messages, payment receipts and phone numbers as evidence.
